FAQ
WHAT IS EVOLUTION?
Evolution is the name of our CSA academy teams
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RECREATION AND ACADEMY?
Recreational soccer is for all players of any ability, utilizing volunteer parent coaches where the focus is on fun. Games are typically played on Saturdays.
Academy soccer is for that player looking to take their game to the next level. Our academy programs employ professional coaches who focus on developing players for rigors of competing at a higher level of play. Our competitive academy teams play in the Prime Time Academy Sports League and games are typically played on Sundays.
DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO TRY OUT?
Absolutely not. CSA does not believe in tryouts and/or cutting an appropriately registered child from the team. We want any child interested in our academy program to have the opportunity to participate, learn, grow and have a fun and challenging experience.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
Anywhere from 1-2 days with an optional 3rd. Our skills development and Mini Evo programs only require a 1 day commitment. Our competitive program requires 2 days – 1 team practice and 1 game – and offers an optional 3rd day – skills development – for those players who choose to do so. Basically, it’s as much or as little soccer as you feel comfortable with.
CAN A PLAYER PLAY RECREATION AND ACADEMY AT THE SAME TIME?
Yes. Several of our players choose to play recreation and academy, however a child may also elect to participate in academy only. We believe in giving the player flexibility to participate in as much or as little soccer as they feel comfortable with.
WHO’S THE COACH?
Check out our Coach Bio Page for more information
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE PRACTICES?
Practices are held on the CSA practice fields. Team practices are determined by the coach, Skills Development and Mini Evo practices are Fridays.
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE GAMES PLAYED?
Academy games typically occur on Sunday afternoons (after church hours). Most of the games will be played close to home in Grapevine with a few games in Keller and Grand Prairie – we’d rather you spend more time on the field than in a car. As players progress in age, more travel will be a part of the game, but we strive to keep a good balance for players (and their parents)
