GAME LENGTH, BALL SIZE, PLAYING TIME, ETC

MINIMUM PLAYING TIME

CSA bylaws require each player to play a minimum of 50% of the total game time. Minimum playing time for a player may be reduced or eliminated due to an injury, illness or disciplinary response. Any exceptions must be reported to the referee and opposing coach in writing before the game. Such exceptions are subject to being verified by the VP coaches

COACHING

  1. All coaching must be done from the designated sidelines within 10 yards of the halfway line
  2. Team, coaches and all team supporters shall be on opposite sides of the fields. Home teams shall be on the north or west side of the field
  3. Coaches are responsible for their own conduct as well as that of their players and player’s families at the game
  4. Coaches may only coach a maximum of two (2) teams per season

# OF ACTIVITIES PER WEEK

There shall be no more than 3 organized activities per week, including games

JERSEY CONFLICT

In the event of a jersey conflict, the home team shall be responsible for changing. The referee shall determine if there is a conflict.

SUBSTITUTIONS

There will be free substitutions with the permission of the referee, allowed at the following times:

  1. Prior to a throw-in of your possession
  2. By either team:
  3. Prior to goal kick
  4. After goal is scored, prior to kickoff
  5. After play has stopped for an injury (injured player only)
  6. At halftime and before any overtime period
  7. For a player receiving yellow card

SCHEDULING/RESCHEDULING OF GAMES

  1. A regular season game and field schedule shall be prepared by the CSA at the beginning of each season
  2. Games may or may not be rescheduled for the benefit of a team based upon agreement of both coaches and the referee assignor
  3. Individual games requiring rescheduling:
    • Due to weather or other natural causes shall be played as soon as possible
    • Due to Board or A&D action, shall be reschedules as prescribed

TEAM STANDINGS

Team standings shall be determined by the point system for the applicable age groups where a team earns the following points:

  1. Win 6 Points
  2. Tie 3 Points
  3. Loss 0 Points
  4. Forfeit -2 Points

1 point will be awarded for each goal scored up until 3. The maximum available points per game is 9.

LEAGUE PLAYOFFS/CHAMPIONSHIP

  1. The Board shall schedule league playoffs and championship games
  2. Tie games are allowed during the regular season, while tie games in any playoff or championship game shall be concluded with a winner in accordance with NTSSA playoff rules
  3. If two or more teams in a league or division are tied in points at the end of the regular season, the team which earned the most points in games against the other team or teams which are tied shall be considered the first place team
  4. If two or more teams in a league or division remain tied in points after following the guidelines in the immediately preceding paragraph, there shall be a playoff involving only those teams remaining tied to determine the first place team
  5. If three teams are tied, a blind draw shall determine which two teams compete in a preliminary playoff match; the winner of which will play the third team for first place.
  6. The CSA representative to the annual Tournament of Champions (TOC) shall be determined by a one game playoff between the first place teams of each division
  7. In cases where CSA teams are participating in divisions with other soccer associations, the CSA team in each division with the highest number of points will be considered the first place team for the purpose of determining a TOC playoff or TOC representative if a playoff game is not required
  8. A team must have a winning record in order to attend the TOC
  9. The older age division team will be the TOC representative unless the younger age division coach and team wish to participate in a playoff game with the older age division

AWARDS

  1. CSA shall furnish awards to all players of teams that complete the season as the first place team in a league or division thereof
  2. In situations in which leagues have been divisionalized, the first team in each division will receive awards. The playoff game is intended solely to determine the TOC representative and shall have no affect on awards
  3. In situations in which any CSA team is playing in a league or division along with teams from other associations, the CSA team will receive an award for a second place finish if the first place team in that league or division is not a CSA team.
  4. CSA players on teams other than as specified in above shall not receive any award similar to the CSA award from any other source for any team recognition. Any other form of recognition may be awarded at the discretion of the team. CSA awards will be selected by the Board and shall be uniform for all teams.
